About Be Her
Becoming doesn't require disappearing.
Be Her was born from a question God asked me during a season when I was reconsidering what surrender really meant:
“Who do you want to be?”
For years, I believed surrendering my life to God meant that my own dreams, desires, goals, and ideas about who I wanted to become had to disappear. I thought embracing His purpose required me to lay down myself completely.
But God began teaching me something different.
Surrender doesn't mean I cease to dream. It doesn't mean I stop creating, imagining, planning, growing, or becoming. It means I become with Him. I bring those things into relationship with Him. I can dream with God. I can create goals and make plans, then place them before Him and trust Him to shape, redirect, or affirm them.
I don't disappear because I belong to Christ.
So, Who Is “Her”?
She isn't a perfect woman waiting somewhere in the future.
She is the woman you are becoming as you allow God to transform you while courageously participating in your own life.
She is learning to know God deeply while discovering herself more fully. She gives herself permission to dream. She tends to her spiritual life. She develops her gifts. She takes care of her body and mind. She creates goals. She pursues purpose. She establishes boundaries. She tries new things. She rests. She heals. She changes. She grows.
And when her plans meet God's wisdom, she trusts Him enough to surrender them.
Be Her is an invitation to dream, create, and become—with God.
She is you-
becoming.
Hi, I’m Ophelia
Author. Writer. Educator. Woman of faith. And still becoming.
Be Her isn’t a space I created because I’ve arrived. It was born from what I’m learning as I walk with God and intentionally participate in the life He has given me.
Here, I write about faith, identity, purpose, dreams, discipline, courage, creativity, and the beautiful—and sometimes uncomfortable—process of becoming.
I believe God’s sovereignty and our participation in our lives can exist beautifully together. He orders our steps, yet invites us to walk them. He gives us purpose, yet gives us room to dream. And He transforms us into the image of Christ without erasing the individuality He intentionally created.
Christ enhances my lovely.
Following Jesus doesn’t make me less me. As I become more like Him, I am also becoming more fully the woman He created me to be.
My hope is that Be Her gives you permission to discover the same.
